SOUTH Ockendon boxer George O’Leary defeated an opponent 10 years his senior to be named the new EBA Light Heavyweight five nations champion.

O’Leary, 21, beat 31-year-old Daryl Setterfield at Grays’ Civic Hall last weekend, winning all six rounds.

Setterfield was the more experienced fighter but he couldn’t get the better of O’Leary who controlled the fight from the off.

And the fighter was delighted to add the win to the English title which he won at the end of June.

“I would like to thank all the people that helped with my training, sparring, and for providing the facilities.”
