Maintenance works on the A130 will be carried out from November 24.

The first phase of the works, on the A130 Northbound and associated slip from A127 at Rayleigh to A132 at Rettendon, will begin on Tuesday and continue over a 20 night period, weather permitting, on a Monday to Friday basis.

The second phase of the works will begin in the spring.

Due to the layout of the road, the type of machinery used and the fact that the works equipment extend across the nearside lane of the carriageway, an overnight total closure of a section of the bypass is necessary for the duration of the scheme, to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public.

There will be a three week period involving inserting piles, at this time it is thought that there will not be any disruption to members of the pubic who live closest to the work site.

A letter drop has been organised for the properties that fall within the closest proximity to the works.

In order to minimise disruption to road users and limit the amount of traffic to be diverted, the works will be undertaken between 8.30pm and 6am when traffic volumes are at their lowest.

Traffic will be diverted northbound from Rayleigh Spur Roundabout south of the A127 through Fairglen Interchange (A1245/A127) via the A1245 Battlesbridge Bypass.

CountyRoute who are responsible on behalf of Essex County Council for the operation and maintenance of the A130 has been in consultation with Essex County Council and Essex Police to agree methods of working and diversion routes.

The diversion routes will be clearly signed.
