A NEW bargain superstore was officially open by the Mayor of Chelmsford and a “local hero”.
B&M, on the site of the former Tesco Homeplus store, Parkway, opened its doors last week to a colourful fanfare.
Mayor Paul Hutchinson, left, along with store manager Paul Johnson and local hero Pat Wilson cut the ribbon to mark proceedings.
Mrs Wilson was nominated to take part in the opening by the community for her extensive work with the Chelmsford Talking Newspaper. The store has created 90 new jobs.
