World Champion diver Rebecca Gallantree and her fellow Great Britain teammates have filmed a video calling for Chelmsford's diving boards to be saved.

The team were at the Aquatic World Championships in Kazan, Russia, when they filmed the video, which sees each member shouting, "Save Chelmsford's diving boards!"

New £25million plans proposed by Chelmsford City Council for the Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre do not include diving boards and pool, with the council claiming not enough people use the current facilities to make them financially viable, a move which Chelmsford Diving Club claims will force it to close.

Rebecca Gallantree, who was born and raised in Chelmsford and learnt to dive at the Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, has backed petitions to save the diving boards and issued a plea to Chelmsford City Council to keep them.

She has just won a gold medal with Tom Daley in the team diving event at the World Aquatics Championships.
