A group of slimmers have raised £1,700 in memory of a friend's husband.
The 45 members of the WeightWatchers from groups in Writtle, Ongar, Tipps Cross, Moulsham Lodge and Melbourne, walked a 5km Parkrun course in Chelmsford.
They were raising money for Farleigh Hospice in memory of Phil Clarke, husband of member Trisha Clarke.
He was cared for by the team at Farleigh Hospice and found comfort there with his family in his last days earlier this year.
Mr Clarke regulary helped out at the Writtle meetings and is remembered fondly as a 'lovely gentleman by all the members who were lucky to have him.'
The groups have raised £1,700 for the hospice.
