A WEDDING planner is celebrating after she managed to complete an extreme Ironman triathlon challenge with celebrity team mate, Gordon Ramsay.

Zoe Strong, of Golding Thoroughfare, Chelmsford, was chosen by the outspoken chef to join his Ramsay’s GR100 team in the Stafford Ironman 70.3 challenge.

This involved swimming 1.2 miles in open water, running a half marathon and cycling 56 miles.

Mrs Strong, whose 30th birthday fell on the date of the race, hoped to raise £2,500 for the Gordon Ramsay Foundation, which supports Cancer Research UK, Scottish Spina Bifida Association, Meningitis Now, Lois Centre for Palliative Care in Great Ormond Street and Action Against Hunger.

But she has smashed her target by raising £3,378.93 so far.

She said: “I can’t believe it’s all over!

“What a fantastic weekend – I could not have asked for it to go any better.”
