CONCORD Rangers midfielder Alex Woodyard has been called up by England C for next month’s friendly with Ireland under-21s.

The 22-year-old made his debut for his country in February, against Cyprus under-21s, coming on at half-time.

And his display was good enough to earn him a re-call, with manager Paul Fairclough naming him in the 16-man squad to play at the Eamon Deace Park, in Galway on Monday, June 1.

Woodyard enjoyed a superb season for the Beach Boys, putting in a number of fine displays in the centre of the park.
