Police have named a lorry driver who sadly died in a road crash near Chelmsford.

Andrew Mason, 50, of Hull, died after his truck was involved in a collision with another HGV on the southbound carriageway of the A12, near the junction of the A130, at about 4.45pm on Sunday, May 10.

Mr Mason, who worked for haulage company Visbeen Transport, was killed following a collision on the London-bound carriage of the A12 near Chelmsford at 4.45pm.

Mr Mason worked for haulage company Visbeen Transport, which posted a tribute on its Facebook page.

It read: “It is with much regret and great sadness that we must report the grave news that our colleague Andy Mason has died as a result of a road traffic accident in the United Kingdom.

“Andy was part of our organisation working as an experienced international driver.

"He was a very respected, professional and conscientious driver who was always available to his work and colleagues.”
