A Chelmsford pub has joined a team of television favourites to bring back the gameshow Fun House.

The Great Baddow Barn Fayre & Square Chelmsford has teamed up with TV favourite, Pat Sharp and the twins, Melanie and Martina, to bring back the 90s game show for just one day only.

The pub is looking for four teams to compete in the Family Fun House competition, which will take place in Staffordshire on June 13.

Just like the TV show, Pat Sharp and the twins will take the contestants through each round where they will go head-to-head – and this time parents can participate too.

The four lucky teams, one parent and one child from each family, will have the opportunity to win a family holiday worth £1,000 by taking part in the games, which include the gunge tank quiz and the go karts race, with the winning team able to enter the Fun House to win even more prizes.

Pat Sharp said: “It’s been a dream of mine to bring back Fun House for over a decade, so I’m over the moon that (in some shape or form) it’s finally happening!

"The Family Fun House day looks set to be extremely exciting and Melanie, Martina and I can’t wait to get out there and do what we do best – host Fun House.”

Steven Gaskell, general manager of the Great Baddow Barn Fayre & Square pub, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing back Fun House!

"It’s about time mums and dads had some fun too, and so we’re not only offering a heap of nostalgia for the parents, but also a chance for them to take part and get messy.

“We’re expecting lots of entries and can only choose four teams of two to take part in our Family Fun House event, so we would encourage families to shout about how wacky their family is when applying.”

Parents can nominate themselves and a child through the Fayre & Square website: www.fayre-square.com, but must be available to attend the event on June 13 in Lichfield.

The deadline for application is midnight on May 30 and winners will be notified by phone or email after the competition has closed.
