POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a nine-year-old boy was seriously injured in a collision with a car at Boreham.

The incident happened at Plantation Road at about 7pm on Saturday May 2.

The boy, who is from the Chelmsford area, received head and leg injuries was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridgeshire, where his condition this morning remained critical.

He was with members of his family at the time of the collision and is believed to have been crossing the road after getting off a bus.

The car involved was a blue Subaru Impreza, driven by a 25-year-old man, also from the Chelmsford area.

Plantation Road was closed for about four and a half hours while police carried out a forensic collision investigation.

Officers from the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit have issued an appeal for witnesses and also wish to speak with anyone with information about events leading to the collision.
