Three teenagers are being treated in hospital for broken bones after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree.

The collission happened at 4.35am yesterday morning on the A414 in Willingale, between Ongar and Writtle.

The three men in the car, all aged 18, were taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, where they are still receiving treatment.

It is believed the maroon Fiat Punto had travelled from Harlow to Chelmsford earlier and was returning back to Harlow at the time of the crash.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the collision.
