Ten new jobs will be created at one of Chelmsford's bars following a £220k refurbishment.

Missoula, on Springfield Road, is set to re-open on Friday, April 24, and has a packed out weekend of celebrations and entertainment in store for its customers.

Doors open from 11am for customers to enjoy a leisurely lunch, trying out dishes from its new menu before the party starts from 5pm while General Manager Mal Lamrani and his team are inviting regular customers to join them for complimentary cocktails and canapes to kick off the evening in style.

Customers will be welcomed along the red carpet by entertainers including fire-breathers, stilt-walkers and even angle grinders plus a glow in the dark robot, known as glo-bot, and his shooting light canons.

Resident DJ, Michael Andre, brother of Peter, will be hosting both Friday and Saturday night and will be joined by saxophonist player Chris Williams who will be accompanying tracks throughout the evening.

The bar which is situated on two floors is being upgraded throughout with new VIP booth seating for friends to create their own party space, additional seating for dining and a new sound and lighting system installed to create spectacular light shows to music.

New cocktails have been introduced including fruity Mojitos and Margaritas plus low calorie and mocktail options and a new food menu has been introduced.

All the new food and drinks choices will be available via the same great offers such as 2 meals for £8.95, half-priced drinks all day on Sundays and two-for one cocktails every day from 5-9pm and until 12am on Thursdays.

Speaking about the refurbishment General manager Mal Lamrani said: “The investment perfectly coincides with the warmer weather and a brand new food and drinks offer for Missoula.

"Our revitalized look and exciting range of fresh dishes and interesting new drinks mean Chelmsford’s number one bar is just getting even better.

“With our fabulous new lighting system in place, our iconic mirror ball is being retired and so we will be auctioning it via facebook and twitter in aid of Essex Air Ambulance.

"Missoula will be the place to be again this May bank holiday Sunday as we will be hosting our annual blue cross sale, which means 50 per cent off drinks until 10pm and 25per cent off thereafter.”

A packed schedule of high profile guest DJ’s will be hosting nights at the bar throughout the summer.

The bar will open daily from 11am serving an extended all day brunch on Sundays; closing at 2am Sunday to Thursday and at 4am on Friday and Saturday.
