Chelmsford City Council has teamed up with Super Mumma Fitness to bring buggy fitness classes to Chelmsford.

The classes will be held outdoors and exercises are performed using equipment around the park and your buggy, including: lunges, squats, fast walking and jogging, step ups and boxing.

Starting tomorrow the classes will be located at Beaulieu Park, Sports Pavilion, Burnell Gate, every Tuesday at 9.30am (excluding school holidays) and are free to attend.

These sessions are good for any mums looking at getting back into fitness after having their baby, but are also a great starting point for mums who are not sure what type of exercises they can perform after having a baby.

This new initiative forms part of ‘woMEn TIME’, which is all about providing opportunities for women to be more active or to try a new sport, in a friendly and non-competitive environment.

The project is funded by Sport England from money secured by a successful bid from Chelmsford City Council to get more women active over the next three years.

Chelmsford City Council’s Women’s Sport and Wellbeing Officer, Rosie Hurrell, said: “These free fitness sessions are a brilliant way for ladies to try something new, enjoy our first-rate parks, make new friends with like-minded people and to get back into shape after having their baby.”
