More than a thousand people have enjoyed action-packed UniFest events at Anglia Ruskin University.
This year’s event proved popular at Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses as youngsters aged between six and 16 were invited to meet academic staff, view state-of-the-art facilities and try their hand at a vast range of sports, workshops and activities.
The two days proved extremely popular as a total of 1,154 people threw themselves into the spirit of UniFest.
In Chelmsford, first team players from Essex Cricket attended to celebrate a partnership with Anglia Ruskin as part of its Chance to Shine project, which will see Anglia Ruskin work with the club to engage secondary school students throughout the eastern region over the next two years.
Activities for aspiring health workers, held at the state-of-the-art health facility at Young Street, proved to be extremely popular in Cambridge while basketball, rush hockey and Zumba also attracted interest. Creative visitors also had a go at flower arranging, face painting, decorating cupcakes and much more.
Rachael Cole, Outreach and Recruitment Officer for Anglia Ruskin University, said: “UniFest is a great way for us to explain university and student life and we are thrilled that so many families turned up and took part.
“Some of these young people could be university students of the future, so it was nice to be able to give them a taste of university life.”
