Thurrock 4-2 Redbridge

From Ship Lane

A THRILLING finale at Ship Lane saw Thurrock come out on top against a dogged Redbridge side.

Five goals in the final 20 minutes and four red cards ensured the fans got their money’s worth and kept Thurrock’s faint play-off hopes alive.

Despite the late goal flurry, the first blow didn’t come until almost half-time when the lively Leslie Thompson fired the hosts ahead.

And that was how it stayed until 19 minutes from time, when home goalkeeper Rhys Madden brought down an away man in the box.

Kacey Adams was sent off for the away side midway through the second half before Patrick Damali equalised from the spot, although they were only level for three minutes.

Remi Sutton put the home side back in front before both teams were reduced to 10 men. An altercation between Rhys Madden and Tyron Thomas saw them both red-carded to ensure a frantic final 10 minutes.

Gavin Cockman leveled the match from the penalty spot again but less than 60 seconds later Ross Wall had given Fleet the advantage once again.

And the 10 men of Thurrock secured the points when captain Lewwis Spence fired home.

There was still time for Bridge to be reduced to eight men when Aaron Tatham was dismissed.
