RYMAN ONE NORTH: Great Wakering Rovers are hoping it is third time lucky when they travel to Burnham Ramblers.

Rovers visit Ramblers this evening in a match that has already been postponed twice due to a waterlogged pitch, and Dan Trenkel’s team is looking to bounce back from their heaviest defeat of the season at the home of his former club.

Trenkel saw his side crushed 6-1 by AFC Sudbury on Saturday, with captain Lewis Sparrow sent off midway through the first half.

Rovers have now gone three games without success and are looking to change that against the league’s basement club.

Ramblers drew 3-3 on Saturday, ending a run of three straight defeats, although their last win in the league was all the way back on October 25.

A host of Rovers players will come up against their former club, and vice versa, including Rovers’ top scorer Jay Nash who had a stint at Burnham last season.

Burnham boss Bertie Brayley is a former Wakering player.
