Students were given an insight into the construction industry with a visit to a working site in Chelmsford.
Chelmsford College arranged for their students on the BTEC Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment to attend a ‘Directions into Construction’ workshop, followed by individual mock interviews, safter which ome of the students then went on to become Ambassadors for Denne.
This group of 12 were able to view both a refurbishment block and a new build care home block and discuss the differing building techniques adopted in each.
This was followed by a Careers Workshop in the Skills Centre, led by Sam Webster from Bouygues – to look at how to find the opportunities on the Bouygues website and how to present a quality CV.
The workshop was also intended to highlight the different graduate programmes available within the group.
