RYMAN ROUND-UP: Canvey Island play their first Saturday match in three weeks when they host Peacehaven & Telscombe tomorrow.

The Gulls saw last weekend’s game at Met Police postponed due to a floodlight failure while they had a free Saturday prior to that as their opponents had cup commitments.

And manager Danny Heale says he is confident of picking up a result, despite a run of five defeats in six league games.

“It has probably worked in our favour,” he said. “We have had some training sessions under our belt and gone through what we needed to go to. We have practiced defending set-pieces and we need to be sharper in those situations in matches.

“Enoch Showunmi’s fitness levels are closer to where we want them to be and we hope he hits the ground running. We need to take our chances when they come so when opposing teams have spells we are can contain them and not regret our own misses.

“We beat Peacehaven earlier in the season but there wasn’t much between the sides. But if we put what we have practiced into a game situation I am confident the result will match the performance.”

Billericay Town could be without Ryan Scott for their home match with Lewes tomorrow.

Town have won five of their last six matches but welcome back Teddy Nesbitt, Nathan Ferguson, and Louis Godwin-Green for the encounter.

Great Wakering Rovers are looking to claw their way up the Ryman One North table against Maldon & Tiptree. Maldon scored a last minute winner at Burroughs Park earlier in the season but Rovers won 4-1 last time out and Dan Trenkel is targeting three more points tomorrow.
