FA VASE: Hullbridge Sports will be looking to match their extraordinary achievements of last year when they tackle Great Yarmouth Town in the FA Vase tomorrow.

Sports host the fourth-placed side in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Division One in the third round after their heroic performance in the last round, which saw them overturn AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Mark Bliss’ side won 1-0 that day against a strongly fancied Rushden & Diamonds outfit, but they play a tier higher than their opponents tomorrow.

However, that has not phased Great Yarmouth as of yet, having knocked out higher league opposition at each stage to date.

Sports have a fully-fit squad to choose from, although Bliss acknowledges his players may be short of match sharpness.

Their recent matches against Haringey Borough and Eton Manor were postponed due to bad weather.

Neil Hunwicks, Sports’ media spokesperson, said: “We hope we will get a lot of local support as we are gearing up for a big day and, with Southend United not playing, we hope that some of their fans might pop down to Lower Road to get their football fix.

“The Hullbridge lads really enjoyed playing in front of a big vocal crowd in the last round, which made all the difference in the end.”

ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE: Basildon United travel to Southend Manor tomorrow in a crunch match towards the bottom of the Essex Senior League.

The Bees sit one place above their derby day opponents but have three games in hand due to recent postponements.

Manor are yet to have a match postponed at Southchurch Park, and away boss Craig Gillam has a number of injury concerns ahead of the clash.

Chris Bush (hamstring), Matt Thoma (ankle), Loranzo Ramsay (away), Terry Griffiths (suspended), Mike Doyle (leg), Georgie Smith (foot) and Terry Martin (back) are all unavailable.

Manor come into the game on the back of six straight defeats, and, are desperate to stop the rot against Basildon.

Bowers & Pitsea travel to London Bari, aiming to replicate their last away performance. Bowers won 3-0 at Sawbridgeworth Town two weeks ago, and boss Rob Small is keen for his side to kick on from that performance.

Sean Hinton (knee), Tom Hine (rib) are both out while Ross Adams and Julian Simon-Parson are suspended against the side only a point below them in the table.
