DANNY Cowley says he “couldn’t have been prouder” of his players after Concord Rangers drew 1-1 with Mansfield Town in the FA Cup.

The League Two side were taken all the way by the Conference South outfit, after Jordan Chiedozie hit a fantastic equaliser for the Beachboys after a Danny Glozier own goal had given the hosts the advantage.

And Cowley said after the game he was delighted with his team’s performance.

“There were some tremendous individual performances,” said the Concord manager. “The players all put in so much effort and they are a credit to the football club.

“Jordan scored a wonderful goal for us,” he continued. “To win this type of match, where you are such an underdog, you need all the elements to work in your favour.

“And I am pleased Jordan’s goal brought us level so soon after the unfortunate own goal. It was a great reaction from the team.

“We have taken a Football League side all the way.

“I’m so proud of my players. It says it all that the man of the match was Mansfield’s goalkeeper and it meant a lot to get a standing ovation from their fans as we left the pitch.”

“It is a great achievement to get the replay and we look forward to Mansfield’s visit next week.”
