HAZARDOUS area response teams were sent to a Chelmsford flat following a carbon monoxide leak.
Two women, aged 19 and 21, managed to escape from their flat in Trent Road and were treated by paramedics following the incident.
Two fire crews from Chelmsford were called to the property just after 3am on Sunday, November 16, following reports of the leak.
Crews helped the girls to safety before isolating the gas supply and making the area safe by 3.42am.
An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed the attendance of two hazardous response teams, which attend incidents that involve chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear materials.
One ambulance and one crew car also attended the incident.
The spokeswoman said the two girls were treated at the scene and did not need hospital treatment.
