Billericay Town 2-1 VCD Athletic
From New Lodge
Ryman Premer
RICHARD Halle led Billericay Town to a third win on the bounce as he celebrated his 100th appearance for the club with a goal.
The skipper scored from the penalty spot to net his 7th goal of the season in a successful day for Craig Edwards' side against VCD Athletic. Glenn Poole sealed the win with a fantastic strike although a late goal had Town sweating for the three points.
And the match started well for the hosts and, when Afolabi Obafemi was brought down in the box the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
Halle dispatched the kick with ease and could have had a second goal to his name soon after, but he blazed over.
VCD hit a free-kick narrowly wide before Nathan Ferguson slashed an effort over the bar.
The in-form Ryan Scott then saw a header come back off the woodwork before Poole smashed in Town's second after a neat dummy.
And, despite late pressure, Town won to move up to 8th in the division.
Billericay Town: Lumley, Sheehan, O'Hanlon, Scott, Halle, Poole, Edwards, Michael-Percil (Nash), Obafemi (Baker), Cleaver, Ferguson (Sappleton)
