THIEVES smashed a window before taking £3,000 of jewellery from a Boreham home.
They smashed a window in the rear patio door to get into the property in Waltham Road before making a messy search of the house and stealing a number of items of jewellery.
Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened between 9.30am and 11.30am on Friday, November 7.
Jewellery taken included a 14 carat gold engagement ring with diamond, a 14 carat gold wedding ring, a 9 carat gold ring, a diamond ring, four pairs of 14 carat gold earrings and a men’s stainless steel Seiko watch.
DS Ray Hull, of Chelmsford CID, said: "If anyone saw any suspicious activity in this area at the relevant time then we would certainly like to hear from them.
“We have pictures of some of these items and I am keen to hear from anyone who is offered these for sale and would ask pawn dealers and other second hand shops to keep a look out.”
Anyone with information can call DS Hull on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
