'Hand grenade' sighting closes major road junction
A MAJOR junction was closed after a suspected hand grenade was found on a roundabout.
Police closed the junction for an hour at:
The A127 at its junction with the A129 Sadlers Farm to the A130
The A13 underpass to Sadlers Farm
The A130 Southend bound at Rettendon
The roads were closed at about 8am as a precaution while they waited for experts from Colchester Army barracks to attend.
But police have now lifted the blockade after it was found the object was an imitation grenade.
Traffic is now expected to ease.
