THE Meadows Shopping Centre in Chelmsford High Street has won its second environmental award this year.
The centre won the Silver Zero Waste Award, dished out by letsrecycle.com The long-running awards scheme celebrates the most innovative and successful initiatives from those who produce or process waste in the private and public sectors, as well as those in community groups and charities.
In August, the centre won a Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice, beating off 500 firms. This time it saw off competiton from 35 other business.
Sue Patel, shopping centre manager, said: “We’re thrilled to have received this award – our second of the year in this field. It is fantastic that the continued efforts and commitment of the team to reduce our environmental impact has been recognised and rewarded.”
