Great Wakering Rovers 0-4 Wroxham

GREAT Wakering Rovers were comfortably beaten by an in-form Wroxham to suffer a set-back in their mini revival.

Rovers went down 4-0 to the Norfolk side and rarely looked like making an impression on the match, with the visitors running out easy winners.

Rovers came into the match off the back of an impressive run of form, in which they had won their previous home encounter to climb out of the bottom three.

But Rovers went behind with 10 minutes on the clock.

Finch broke down the right and crossed but his low delivery deflected off a Rovers defender and dropped to the waiting Remy Gordon. He took a touch before striking left-footed across the goalkeeper from a tight angle.

Nathan Stone was causing Lewis Sparrow and Nick Skelton problems and he almost took advantage of a slip from the latter, breaking through to shoot against the base of the near post.

But they did score again after a quick break down the right from Finch saw him cut inside Sparrow and shoot beyond Seal at the near post.

Trenkel told his players they were giving the away side ‘too much respect’ and he changed things at half-time, bringing on Joe Skeels and Tom Ranger.

Pride still hadn’t been tested between the sticks for Wroxham and the game was finally taken away from Trenkel’s men when Jordan King made it 3-0.

The midfielder picked up a loose ball from 25 yards and smashed the loose ball first time past Seal, who was not expecting the early shot.

Radley saw an effort blocked from close range before he forced Pride into a save with a stinging shot from outside the area.

And there was still time for Gordon to hit home his second of the match and ensure the points went back to Norfolk.
