CONFERENCE SOUTH: CONCORD Rangers will have to keep former Premier League hotshot DJ Campbell quiet when his Maidenhead United side visit tomorrow.

Campbell, inset, has played in the top flight for Blackpool, Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers but, while playing for Blackburn Rovers, he was embroiled in allegations of match-fixing - he has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.

He joined Maidenhead three weeks ago and is expected to line-up at the Aspect Arena.

And assistant-manager Nicky Cowley says he will pose a test for the Beachboys defence.

“Maidenhead have strengthened this summer,” he said. “To bring in a striker like DJ Campbell shows they are a side with talent and we will have to be at our best to keep him quiet.

“We expect a tough challenge but need to try and target our home games to pick up points. We did well against Maidenhead last year and we can that that confidence into this game.”

The Beachboys romped to a 4-1 win at the Aspect Arena last term, and the Magpies were one of three sides they completed a double over in a profitable first season in the Conference South.

The visitors have won three away games and netted ten goals in their last two league outings.
