BELLS rang out in Chelmsford earlier this month as part of The Great Big Hearing Check.

Members of Sound In Brass, the city’s handbell group, visited the Boots Hearingcare centre to get a free 15-minute check so they can continue to enjoy their hearing – and handbells – for years to come.

In Chelmsford, 28,700 people are estimated to be affected by hearing loss – 17 percent of the population - and research shows that, on average, two in five of those affected remain untreated.

The Great Big Hearing Check aims to reach people in Chelmsford who may have noticed changes in their hearing and drive awareness of how a Boots hearing check is a free, quick and simple way to help detect hearing loss problems as early as possible
