EXPANSION work on the Chelmer Valley Park and Ride has been completed, bringing the number of car parking spaces up to 1,000.
More than 300 extra spaces have been added to the site on the A130 Essex Regiment Way. Work began in June and finished on time on Friday.
Councillor Rodney Bass, in charge of highways and transport at County Hall, said: “High levels of demand for the park and ride service made expansion plans essential.
“More than one million return journeys to Chelmsford have now been made since it opened in March 2011 - reducing congestion and bringing more visitors to the city.”
