CONCORD Rangers won 4-2 against Wealdstone to make it five matches unbeaten before their two-week break.

The result was made more impressive as defender Jack Lampe spent 50 minutes in goal for the Beachboys after Jamie Butler went off injured.

Danny Cowley’s team came into the match on the back of a four match unbeaten run and were looking to extend that run with a two week break on the horizon, and the boss handed a debut to Australian Jeremy Walker, who impressed.

But Wealdstone scored first, Scott McGleish putting the visitors in front five minutes before the break after a defensive lapse in concentration and it looked set to get worse when Butler sustained a head injury.

Lampe went between the sticks but Concord stormed back to equalize within two minutes.

A corner saw Jordan Chiedozie flick the ball past Jonathan North for his fourth goal in three matches, and seconds later the hosts were ahead.

A poor clearance from North saw Steve Cawley pick up the ball and net with ease - his third of the campaign.

Wealdstone had still not tested Lampe and Concord took advantage to press on, scoring a third with 20 minutes left to play. A rebound fell to Gary Ogilvie who scored and Lewis Taaffe added a fourth after a terrific jinking run, which saw him beat two men, before chipping into the net.

The visitors added a consolation through Luke Pigden but it was too little too late for Wealdstone.

Concord sit 10th after the result.
