DANNY Cowley says Concord Rangers will be looking to take advantage of two home fixtures in a week despite ongoing injury concerns.

Centre back pairing Steve King (cracked rib) and Jack Lampe (hamstring) both played in the 1-1 draw at Sutton whilst Tony Stokes came off the bench, despite sustaining ankle ligament damage against Eastbourne Borough.

Cowley said the Beachboys, who play Bishop’s Stortford tonight and Wealdstone at the weekend, should have taken all three points from the encounter.

“We played really well in that match,” said the Concord manager. “Our goal was down to hard work and persistence and we could have prevented their equaliser.

“The injury situation hasn’t changed but we have added Cheye Alexander (former West Ham United youngster) to the squad and we may look to bring in one more.”

East Thurrock United are hoping to build on a good week on the road with a home win.

Rocks have taken six points on their travels at Leiston and Bognor Regis Town but now return to Rookery Hill to play Lewes, who have lost three of their four away games so far. John Coventry’s men struggled against the East Sussex side last term, taking only one point from the six on offer.

The only doubt for East Thurrock is Reece Harris (sore knee).

Canvey Island returned to form at the weekend after three straight losses, and will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at Tonbridge Angels.

Angels were relegated from the Conference South last campaign and have endured an indifferent start this time around, losing five matches already, although their home form is much better than it is on the road, with only one defeat and three wins so far.

Jay Curran and Tambeson Eyong return to Danny Heale’s squad for the match.

Great Wakering Rovers will be hoping for a better performance than the one that saw them comfortably beaten at home by Cray Wanderers at the weekend.

Rovers never got going and will be looking to get their first home points of the season against AFC Sudbury, who sit mid table.
