A Chelmsford Aldi supermarket is due to reopen this week.

The Springfield Road store near Chelmer Village has undergone expansion to meet increased demand and improve the store.

A further 15 jobs have been created by the revamp - and the supermarket is still on the look out for people to fill those vacancies.

The store first opened in 1995 and after a brief closure, will reopen on Thursday.

Store manager Michael Fuller said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming customers back into our new look store in Chelmsford, which has been expanded to meet customer demand and will allow us to offer an increased number of product lines at affordable prices.”

To celebrate the opening today, golden envelopes containing special tickets for numerous prizes, including a 7” tablet PC, smartphones and luxury bags of Aldi shopping goods will be handed out to the first 100 people in the queue.
