NEW Hall School are celebrating after over three quarters of this year’s A Level grades were between A* and B.

Further success saw 16 percent of all grades at A*, and 93 percent at A*-C. Overall, the school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

The two top performing students earned five A*-A grades each, with another student earning four A* grades. This despite grades dropping nationally.

Jack Robinson secured an offer to read Economics at the London School of Economics (LSE) by achieving two A* and two A grades in Economics, Mathematics, Latin and Critical Thinking.

Emily Treacher, from Little Baddow, also secured two A* and two A grades in Economics, Critical Thinking, Geography and Government and Politics securing an offer to read Politics at Durham University.

Jessica Martin secured two A* and one A grade, combining her studies with a successful tennis career as part of New Hall School’s elite Tennis Academy.

Students scored record numbers of A*-A grades in Mathematics, Economics, History, Government and Politics and Theology. Students studying Music and German at A Level secured 100% of grades at A*-A.

Principal, Katherine Jeffrey, said: “We are proud of all our students’ successes and it is wonderful to see their excitement today after all their hard work.

"We are delighted to hear that so many students have secured places at their first choice universities to read competitive subjects including Law, Engineering, Medicine, Politics, Philosophy and Economics and Classics.”

Head of Sixth Form, James Alderson, added: “I am delighted to be able to celebrate with our students today. The impressive results achieved are a great reward for the hard work of all students. We look forward to hearing of our current students’ future successes.”
