CANCER charity Marie Curie raised £500,000 in just three days, thanks to special cars which travelled through the country lanes, including those in and around Chelmsford, as part of the Tour de France.
The charity organised the vehicles which completed the three routes, which took in much of Essex on the final day.
Volunteers were out and about passing around donation buckets along the routes.
Organisers said the response was “fantastic”.
