PUPILS at a Chelmsford school have raised £2,500 for charity CLIC Sargent.
The Parent Teacher Association at Kings Road Primary School gave each a youngster a tube of Smarties, that once they had eaten, had to be refilled with money they were to earn by doing jobs for family and friends.
The clever ploy raised more than £1,000.
Other activities such as a book sale and a wishing well saw the total increased further.
Headteacher, Phil Kyriacou, said: “I am delighted.”
