FIREFIGHTERS quickly put out a fire in the roof of a Chelmsford pre-school.

The blaze at the building in Chelmer Village Way, which is used by Rainbow Pre-school, started shortly after 6.30am today.

Two crews from Chelmsford and one from Great Baddow were quick to the scene and used two main jets and one hose reel jet.

They had the fire out within 35 minutes of arriving.
