A SIX-YEAR-OLD from Chelmsford is to become one of Britain’s youngest recording artists...after being chosen to join a children’s pop group.

Joshua Kirk, of Warehouse Lane, was nominated by his mum Karen to join Wacky Warehouse’s Little Singers, a group of eight regulars at the soft play centres up and down the country.

On the look-out for the next Beyonce or Bruno Mars, parents were asked to nominate their child – aged six to 10 – to take part in a recording session to lay down the vocals for the official Wacky single, which will be played in all 77 of the centres to thousands of children.

The Wacky CD will also be given out in party bags at Wacky birthday parties.

Speaking about why she thought her son would be the ideal candidate, Karen, said: “I think Joshua would be a great Wacky Little Singer because he always makes people laugh and smile!”

Joshua, who goes to Lawford Mead Infant School, has also won unlimited entry into Wacky Warehouse for a year – and a free meal at the Great Baddow Barn in Galleywood Road.

Steve Gaskell, general manager of the Great Baddow Barn, said “We’re really pleased that a Little Singer has been found in Chelsmford. I can’t wait to hear the results.”
