TV stars on form at posh polo day

Chelmsford Weekly News: Lauren Pope Lauren Pope

WEEKLY News features writer LOUISE HOWESON enjoyed a bit of polo in Chelmsford at the weekend – she tells us all about who she saw...

THERE was horseplay afoot at Dukes Polo ...and it wasn’t just confined to the match!

The Only Way is Essex cast and crew invaded Hylands Park in Chelmsford at the weekend where visitors flocked for the annual match and fun day.

TOWIE cast member Danielle Armstrong was spotted with her former boyfriend James Lock looking loved up and Arg was seen chilling in the sunshine having a relaxing massage from the onsite masseuses.

I went along courtesy of retail village Braintree Freeport who kitted out fashion bloggers Georgina Goodman and Debs Stubbington – and me – in outfits for the occasion.

We kept one eye on the Germany v Brazil polo match and the other on the cast members.

Lauren Pope looked stunning in a bright patterned skirt and tucked-in T-shirt and Lydia Bright dressed up in a glamorous frock, perfect for the occasion.

At half time the entire cast darted on to the playing field to do their best ‘Pretty Woman’ impression and stomp in the divots caused by from the polo ponies.

Southend singer Leanne Jarvis, who starred on the BBC show the Voice, entertained the masses on the day and later visitors were treated to a DJ set.

FerneMcCann was seen tucking into a beef salad, although she was bemused that it cost £20 for two, until she remembered she had ordered extra meat!

Unfortunately the band Earth, Wind and Fire, who were scheduled to perform, had to cancel and although it was disappointing, it did not detract from the jam-packed event.

Does anyone really care about such nonsense masquerading as news?

Someone is getting paid to write this stuff. Think about that for a minute.
