A 12-YEAR-OLD girl put a beaming smile onto the face of a nine-year-old left devastated by the theft of her beloved trampoline by giving up her own.

Courtney Arnold was so upset to discover her trampoline had been removed from her back garden, in St Nazaire Road, by thieves, that she called the Weekly News last month and appealed for people to keep an eye out for it.

And on reading about the loss, Ellen and her daughter Caitlin, who live nearby, got in touch with the Weekly News to say Courtney could have their trampoline.

Courtney and her mum, Thelma, have now picked it up.

Thelma said: "We took Courtney to meet Caitlin. Courtney was invited to try out the trampoline, which she did with enthusiasm, giving it a thumbs up and said it was 110 per cent bouncier than her old one.

And it seems Courtney and Caitlin will be seeing more of each other as they both have a love of dogs too.

Thelma added: "Not only has Courtney got a replacement trampoline, it would appear we have been blessed with new friends!

"Thank you to everyone for turning a horrible incident into a success story, and especially to Ellen and Caitlin for their phone call."
