Three people have been taken to hospital after a car was overturned in a road accident.

Three people suffered neck and back injuries when a blue Fiat Punto and a red Citroen C4 collided on the A131 in Little Leighs at about 6.50am today.

Two ambulances, the hazardous area response team and a paramedic officer were dispatched.

One casualty was trapped in one of the vehicles and two fire crews from Braintree and Chelmsford managed to release them by 7.27am.

The three casualties were taken to Broomfield Hospital as a precaution.
