POLICE want to identify a man in connection with the theft of money from a self-service till at Asda in Chelmsford.

At around 5.30pm on Wednesday, May 7, a woman shopping in the Chelmer Village supermarket used one of the self-service tills and asked for cash back. She forgot to retrieve the cash and left the store.

A man is seen on CCTV to take the money and then queue up to pay for his shopping.

Police are looking to identify the man pictured. He is white, with a bald head, wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who can identify this man should contact Pc Rob Bentley at Chelmsford police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
