COMIC and TV star Alan Carr will headline the comedy stage at this year’s V Festival.

The host of Chatty Man will be making his V debut and will headline the Glee Club Comedy Tent on the Saturday night of the festival. Australian and host of The Last Leg, Adam Hills, will headline the Sunday.

The pair will be joined over the two days by a host a house hold names and rising stars of comedy including Paul Chowdhry, Jimmy McGhie, Rob Beckett and Andrew Maxwell.

Carr, a Bata winner last year, can’t wait to take to the stage. In reference to main stage headliner Justin Timberlake, he said: “Can't wait to perform at V!! Watch out Timberlake there's someone else bringing Sexy Back! See you there!”

Hills said of his appearance: "I'm a V virgin, and am therefore quite excited to pop my cherry at this year's festival.

“Since it's my first time, I'm guessing I'll make a fool of myself, be very loud, and it'll all be over much quicker than I had hoped. Unlike my actual virginity though, I'll get to lose it twice in a weekend."

The comedy stage is another addition to an already fantastic line-up at this year’s festival, which will once again take place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Saturday, 16 August and Sunday 17.

The Killers are the other headliner at the event, and will be joined on the bill by the likes of Rita Ora, Elbow, Pixie Lott, Nile Rodgers and the Manic Street Preachers.

Tickets are still on sale for the event, and are available at www.vfestival.com
