A FESTIVAL dedicated to the ukulele takes place at the Cramphorn Theatre on Saturday.
The event, known as the D’Ukulele Festival, will be the third of its kind to come to the theatre, in Fairfield Road, and is being organised once again by band D’Ukes.
The day will feature performances showcasing the instrument from artists including the Bishop’s Stortford Ukulele Society, Captain Kirk’s Mandolin and Ragtime Vintage Dolls.
A workshop will also be held to allow people to learn the basics like tuning and strumming and an open mic jam session will be held for people who fancy performing to others.
D’Ukes are keen for people to take up the instrument, and say there will be a family friendly atmosphere and provide a place to meet others with a passion for the art of the uke.
The event runs from noon to 5pm, and entry is £3.
D’Ukes will then perform in the evening from 8pm, although the show is already sold out.
