AN annual event aimed at giving valuable information to the elderly on subjects such as health and finance has been hailed a success.
The Older People’s Information Day, organised by Chelmsford City Council and the Partnership Action Group for Older People, saw 350 residents turn up and given the opportunity to speak to 28 different stalls showcasing their services.
The event, which was held at Chelmsford Cathedral on Tuesday, April 29, also included presentations on topics such as travel opportunities and citizen’s advice, as well as a seated exercise session finale.
The council’s older people’s champion, Councillor Malcolm Watson, said: “The event certainly engaged many attendees, especially the seated exercise at the end. Some interesting and thoughtful questions were put to speakers.
“The information day is a perfect opportunity to provide the older people of Chelmsford with help and advice, as well as improving their wellbeing.”
