A POPCORN entrepreneur has struck a big money deal which will see his unique-flavoured Retrocorn hit sweet shop shelves across the country.

Greg Taylor, 34, of Waterhouse Street, Chelmsford, will see bags of his Retrocorn appear at Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe stores around the UK.

Rather than the standard salt or sweet, flavours produced by Mr Taylor’s company include lemon sherbert, liquorice and dandelion and burdock.

A chuffed Mr Taylor said: “The firm is the UK’s number one sweet retailer, so this partnership is really going to introduce my products to a huge, new audience.

“Popcorn is something I associate with happy memories of childhood and going to the cinema with my family and friends.

“After a film, mum would occasionally take me and my sister to a local sweet shop as an extra treat and we’d buy things like cola cubes, rhubarb and custards, cherry pips and lemon sherbets.

“So when I came up with the Retrocorn concept, I wanted something that took adults back to their childhood, but would also appeal to their kids.”
