Burglars manage to evade arrest after helicopter sent up to track them
THREE burglars evaded capture earlier today after drama on the Melbourne Estate, Chelmsford.
The Essex police helicopter tweeted an appeal for help at about 12.55pm.
It was dispatched after police were called to Arnhem Road.
An Essex police spokesman said: “Police attended this area of Chelmsford after a call at 12.35pm today that a number of youths had been seen in the garden of a house by a neighbour.
“Officers attended and a break in to a property was confirmed by police on the ground and assisted by the helicopter they have been carrying our searches in the area to trace the suspects. Enquiries are ongoing.”
