Chelmsford Weekly News: Consultation opened for possible post office move in Danbury Consultation opened for possible post office move in Danbury

A VILLAGE post office could be moved and opened for longer.

The Post Office plans to move the branch from Main Street, Danbury, to Roseco Stores in Maldon Road, 500 metres away.

It says it will have three service counters and opening hours could double to 102 a week.

Opening hours would be Monday to Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 8am-8pm.

Residents have six weeks to give their views before a final decision is made.

Regional network manager Will Russell said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Danbury and we are confident this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
