A PLAY version of a hit West End musical set in Liverpool will be taking to a stage in Chelmsford next month.

Blood Brothers is being performed by cast members of the Chelmsford Theatre Workshop at the Old Court Theatre in Springfield Road on dates between May 14 and 24.

Despite being originally written as a play by Willy Russell, the production became a hit musical when it came to the West End in 1983 and is still being performed professionally in the UK today.

The plot revolves around scouse twins separated at birth before a series of fateful events lead to them being reunited as teenagers.

Shows start at 7.45pm on each night with tickets costing £9 for adults and £8 concessions.

On Friday and Saturday, the concession price will not apply.
