STARS showed up in Chelmsford city centre over the weekend for the opening of a brand new nightclub.

The ribbon was cut at Ctzn Bar in Springfield Road on Friday before former JLS singer Marvin Humes wowed more than 600 people inside the venue on Saturday evening.

The 29-year-old current co-presenter of BBC talent show The Voice got behind the decks for a DJ set during his special guest appearance to celebrate the club’s opening.

Marvin, who is married to Saturdays member Rochelle [Humes], was not the only celebrity to turn up during the bar’s first weekend.

Pop star and Essex boy Olly Murs also made an appearance at the venue which used to be Purple Lounge.

He later tweeted about enjoying going to the club, saying: “Great night out in Essex last night....nice little adventure round to some spots @ctznbar & @luxeessex good times!! #thethreeamigos.”

Cast members of reality TV show The Only Way Is Essex including James “Arg” Argent also showed up at Ctzn.

Clubbers took to Twitter to voice their delight at Chelmsford’s newest nightspot.

Amy Reid (@MrsAmyLReid) posted: “Amazing night at @ctznbar ...@MarvinHumes took out phone and had a selfie with us! His set was sooo good!”

Meanwhile, Ruby Ransome tweeted: “Chelmsford has never been better omg @ctznbar.”
