EVEN bigger weddings can be hosted now at Hylands House thanks to a new addition to the historic building.

A grand pavilion will be available to use for the first time this summer at the Grade II-listed property in Chelmsford which dates back to Georgian times.

The structure allows up to 300 guests, an increase of 220, to enjoy festivities at the venue which overlooks more than 500 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland.

Contained with the new pavilion are state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems with Hylands manager Ceri Lowen saying staff are excited by the addition.

Mrs Lowen said: “We’ve created a very modern space that sits perfectly next to the grandeur of Hylands House.

“The pavilion is ideal for large wedding parties and can be used alongside the more traditional rooms in the house for wedding ceremonies.”

A wedding open day will be held at Hylands on Sunday May 18 to give couples the chance to have a look around the venue.
